Having '0' issues with the update so far.
Seems to load much faster. Other than re-entering my account nfo all seems the way it should be. I like the faster loading time. Thanks (: |

YES, absolutely. But if you purchase dual training; At least you can play one knowing the other is still training.
Best to have two accounts. |

What I recognize:
Lack of clear concise instructions for any and all aspects of the CCP games I have played. I am having no issues with this launcher. However I believe it would be best to offer detailed operators instructions for the many who fall short of complete understanding.
One can spends days weeding through truth/deception/sarcasm before finally hitting the target.
Forums are great to work out some details, however I feel for the ones who are not aware of every little button, tick box, etc. When shooting for an answer, 14 sarcastic replies really does no one any favors.
When will someone consider changing the story for missions to flow smoothly? EXAMPLE: It makes little sense to run missions for an agent, then if you click the get mission button when there is no ava. mission, you get a reply that they only work with people they trust. If they didn't trust you, why would they let you do 30 missions for them? See the conversations make little sense. I feel the conversations could be better detailed, more exciting, and follow some type of consistent direction.
I wish I was young enough to know everything. So much I must have forgotten over the last 45 years. |

and we're broken again...
Launcher starts but alas no login box, only useful for reading news.
Tried a fresh install of the launcher but still no way to log in. Kind of reluctant to log another support ticket seeing as CCP support seems to work at a glacially slow speed.
Guess i'll be off playing something else until another launcher update fixes the issue possibly,
Try to launch the eve.exe launcher at: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE (until June 30th)
or
exefile.exe located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin
log in and play
This should get you by until you find your fix.

See this link: https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/202664365-Reinstalling-the-Launcher\
I hope when they remove the in-game browser they enable shared links to automatically launch your default browser rather than make us play copy/paste. |

I tried contacting my ISP to see if it was an issue on their end and after they helped me the problem disappeared for a few hours and then came right back again. I can't patch for the most part, and if it does actually work it downloads at less than dial-up speed. Then when I launch the client it black-screens after I select my character.
Every other website and game on my PC runs with no problems.

now i get to relog in all 13 accounts, redo the overviews for 13 F*****G accounts. Reduce the graphics on 12 stupid alts, uncheck camera shake on 13 damn accounts. Thanks.
The least you could do is have a quick backup and restore account settings, but that's a mess too. Yes I know how to go into the eve files and make copies of account info, but i don't know how to work them into this new launcher's database. I have an old .bin file that used to backup my overview/account settings but that no longer works. so how bout it. the next time you release another update to the launcher that WIPES OUT HOURS OF TEDIOUS POINTLESS WORK, how about you have a migrate old overview settings to new launcher button. because that little settings button by each new login thing? it didn't bring back S**T from the old accounts...
I feel for you.
What I do not understand is how this causes issues for some users and not for others. When I retyped in my user name and password. that was that. POOF! all done. All my previous setting were right on target. Just the way they were left before the update. I have several different profiles for my(more than 1) accounts. 1 screen profiles 2 screen profiles and 3 screen profiles. some for PvP some for mining, etc.
I don't get it. Isn't all the data stored the same on everyone's systems? Wouldn't the conversion offer the same results on everyone's systems? This whole launcher thing just completely blows my f'n mind. |

Rain6637 wrote:I suspect it is due to WIndows user permissions. I have all EVE directories outside of Program Files (C:\EVE\) just so the OS gets less nervous about changes. I also do everything as administrator of course. My suggestion for anyone with recurring launcher problems is installing outside of Program Files and using the built-in Administrator account to do it. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/555910 I also suggest deactivating the built-in admin account after using it to install the launcher.
my system runs on the admin account. all my eve data is strictly default. my system doesn't get nervous, it is a machine.
All I know other than that, is my update could not have been smoother. THANK GOD (or who ever)
but I don't know why my last post doubled up during an edit...

Top Yourself wrote:Just a point of view that you may be overlooking:
Changes like this antagonise the autistic members of your playerbase.
Change causes agitation, anxiety and fatigue. If it is a necessary change and is implemented well, then the end may justify the means. If it is a conceptually unsound change or is implemented incompetently, then the means merely justifies the end.
Cluttering the game with unnecessary sensory information causes agitation, anxiety and fatigue. Camera shakes, tracking cameras, focus changes, jump animations and other intrusive effects and poorly conceived UI features all cause sensory overload. Sensory overload causes people to put down your game.
Allowing players to easily deactivate the features that cause sensory overload is essential. Reactivating those features arbitrarily, as you have done here, is unsound. Expecting autistic people, who you have just injured through inattention, to fix your mistakes for you leads to resentment. Resentment leads to unsubbing.
WOW!
I really want to say;"nicely put" I just don't know if I should. lol well done.

Aaron Eyrou wrote:You can also make the launcher window the size of your screen if wanted by dragging the sides like any other window. Which should allow more than ten accounts. If you had a 4k screen that could be a lot.
Dragging to resize - simplify that by just double clicking the title bar. One dbl click and poof the launcher is full screen.

Here is an idea. try opening the settings on the left side of the window. Select launch options and set the time you want it to take to launch the next instance. Mine is 5 seconds. |

Select launch options and set the time you want it to take to launch the next instance. Mine is 5 seconds. I've adjusted it to 10. There's really no noticeable change. One thing I have noticed is that with two clients and the launcher running, I'm hitting about 80% processor utilization across all 6 cores. Closing the launcher once the clients finally open drops that back to about 30% So WTF is the launcher doing when it isn't launching that requires it to chew up that much processing power? Edit: As an aside, I just tried using the exefile to load Eve without the launcher, and it yields my old performance expectations with the launcher running, so there's def something in the launcher that's chewing up resources and hindering performance.
Could it be spying? Just askin'

Can we get a option to bypass launcher again and or not to use it. I dont care about logging in each account... at least the game works.
I run 5 accounts on 2 monitors where I can see and hear everything thats going on...check that I used to be able to.
Hell easy fix... just fix the exefile.exe
Wow, just tried it myself. You're right. I get an incompatible version message.

Msgerbs wrote:I actually like not having the username saved (I fill it with a password manager anyway) but why does it still default to having the cursor in the password field? There is never a situation where you'll be typing the password without the username, so it should default to the username field if the username is blank.
That is not entirely true. Many sites retain your username but leave password as the focus entry point. I believe every launcher used in eve over 3 years does the very same thing. They retained the last used account used. Leaving only password to fill in so the focus was there.

Launcher offers outstanding security for those playing on a computer that could be stolen.
Due to attacks on my networks, I just forced a change to my dynamic IP. Although IPs are generally static, I have carried the same IP for over a year. Today when launching; I noticed again it was prompting me for my user information again just as many of the complaints stated in this forum.
After filling in only one of my account usernames and passwords, it then challenged me with a character name because I had never logged in from this new IP address. I thought okay here we go.... After filling in only 1 character name, POOF! All previously add log-in data was instantly restored. Not only for the account I logged in, but for all accounts on the system. I should mention that I do have remember my info checked, so even if that is checked and your system leaves your home unexpectedly, it stills seems to offer protection. I like that.
SWEET!
Way to begin turning things around CCP. NICE! |

Have even resorted to reinstalling system images and trying the process again.
If I can't resolve this by 30th then I'm gonna have to say goodbye to Eve since I can't launch the bloody thing!
Is there an issue with upgrading the launcher or is it just me? What specifically is your problem? What OS are you on? Have you downloaded the latest launcher build from https://community.eveonline.com/support/download ? Using Windows7. I followed the steps to update the launcher but once complete, the launcher failed to launch...nothing. I installed a system image and repeated the upgrade steps you recommend...again the launcher failed to launch. Any help would be greats thanks. Have you submitted a ticket to customer support? https://support.eveonline.com/ Yes, already submitted
After my installation, the launcher did take an unusually long time to launch, but just the first time. Try to launch it then walk away for a few minutes, I think it was like 1.5 - 1.75 minutes to launch first run.

I want to try to help. What operating system is running on your computer? Is the launcher installed in the default launcher directory? or did you give it a different location to install to?> Do you use TS3? maybe we can voice up and work on it. Although I am relatively new to gaming, my schooling consists of Comp Info sys, data recovery, deployment, got a good handle on the registry, no longer Microsoft certified, but I'm will to go hands on with you. |
